The weather radar implementation apparently does checks in the background, to keep the screen current and up to date, even when the radar is "off" in the cockpit. The quality of simulation is stunning and is certainly on par with PMDG.The latest Airbus models from Aerosoft include a weather radar. Then Aerosoft is definitely the place to go for high quality version of Airbuses. For those who love flight sim and Airbus. It has definitely lived up to expectations and is definitely worth purchasing. Overall I think that this is a great addition to the Aerosoft library of great addons. For those who are serious about Airbus then this is the place to go. The installation is simple and quick and the file size isn’t to big. Infact there wasn’t really a significant frame drop. Unlike PMDG Aerosoft are good at creating addons that don’t murder your system! This addon didn’t slow my system down at all. Take a look at the screenshot! There has been no editing at all done to this. Addons have reached a point where the exterior modeling really can’t get much better. It appears that when you get a new addon the placebo effect comes and tell you that it looks better than the addon you had before.
The exterior of this aircraft it really good. This would add more realism to the view of the wing. What I would have liked to see is the window included in one of the view. Like most addons they have a camera view of the wing. Aerosoft’s attention to detail is on par with PMDG maybe even better. The cockpit has been modeled to perfection, the gauges are high quality and the lighting inside the cockpit is good. I mostly used this to change from the Virual cockpit to a zoomed in view of the CDU. This is the most useful thing in the world and allows you to easily change the view in the aircraft. On most of Aerosoft’s products nowadays they have a little view changer button on the side of the simulator. The lighting of the cockpit can be adjusted and looks stunning in low light. The interior modeling of the Airbus A318/18 is beautiful. The stall avoidance system is not very effective, it makes a feeble attempt at lowing the attitude of the aircraft. One thing I did notice was that when you decrease the speed back to stall. You can actually leave it at climb attitude and even in strong winds and when out of trim will try and maintain that attitude. The fly by wire that it implemented into he airbuses is simulated very accurately. I have previously flown the Airbus x extended package from Aerosoft and the handling of the airbus A318/19 definitely feels faster and more responsive quite apparent characteristics that a lighter aircraft should have. I can say that the handling of this aircraft is aircraft is excellent. They could replace all of the ancient planes for this.Īfter flying around Aerosoft’s new Tromso x Scenery for a couple of hours and then doing some hops across Europe.
